Noble Demon

The first bands on the still young label, which has nevertheless already caused quite a stir in the scene, are top-class names like the melodic doom project Dawn of Solace (Tuomas Saukkonen), the alternative goth unit Mercury Circle from Finland (Jaani Peuhu, Jaska Raatikainen), Swedish black metal masters Night Crowned (Henric Liljesand) and other established bands like Gomorra, Zornheym, Kaunis Kuolematon, Neonfly, Oceanhoarse, Jaded Star, Humavoid and more …

The following bands are already part of the “Noble Demon tribe“:

Beneath My Feet

Hailing from northern Sweden, Beneath My Feet combines influences from the American metal sound and the British hardcore scene to produce what is best described as a loving rhytmic punch to the face. Their music combines heavy rhythm, pop influenced melodic choruses and catchy riffs. They have toured throughout Europe and shared stages with bands such as Dead By April, Amaranthe, The Unguided, Machinae Supremacy, Corroded and many more.

In 2023, they released their second full length album called “In Parts, Together” on the German Noble Demon label. On this album they tackle themes such as abuse, trauma, anxiety and grief. Dawn of Solace

When Before the Dawn (short: BTD) was preparing to record 3rd album ”The GhostTuomas Saukkonen realized that he had over 30 songs written. First idea was to simply make an double album for BTD but some of the material written started to sound too slow and dark for BTD style and Tuomas Saukkonen decided to push that darker direction a bit further and form a completely new project called Dawn of Solace (short: DOS). Debut album ”The Darkness” came out in May 2006 featuring BTD vocalist Lars Eikind on clean vocals and Jukka Salovaara on guest vocals and solo guitar. After the release several issues with label forced the project to go on a hiatus for undefined amount of time.

It took 13 years and 14 written albums until an idea of a song came up that ignite the flame to bring Dawn of Solace back from over a decade of rest. Time took care of the issues with labels and legally band was free but 13 years had not taken away the crushing sadness that inspired the debut. “Waves” came out to be a honest picture of the current times for its writer. Grey, heavy and dark but still sorrow carrying certain beauty and strength. Already while recording “Waves” it was clear that Dawn of Solace was brought back to life and this time without the passing of another decade between the albums, since the third full-length record, titled “Flames Of Perdition“, was released in January 2022.

Gomorra

After the internationally successful Burning Witches, Gomorra are another musical “export hit” from the alpine republic, because Gomorra always mixes up the heavy metal scene.

The line-up consists of experienced and virtuoso thoroughbred musicians who have already celebrated their first successes with bands such as Gonoreas and Atlas&Axis. With their songs they do a kind of balancing act between heavy, power and thrash metal. The productions will be performed by and with V.O. Pulver are recorded at Little Creek Studio (Destruction, Burning Witches, Nervosa…) and therefore always sound fresh, dynamic and powerful.

Since its inception in 2014, Humavoid has put out a few independent releases with praising reviews and steadily grown their fanbase through vigorous live shows and several music videos all produced by the band itself. The new album Lidless” presents Humavoid as its most aggressive to date, but also further reveals the band’s experimental side.

Kaunis Kuolematon

The embodiment of Finnish melancholic metal Kaunis Kuolematon released their third full-length album at the end of the year 2020. Recordings of the album are done at Deep Noise Studios, Finland (Bloodred Hourglass, Wolfheart, Dawn Of Solace, To/Die/For) and artwork will be done by Niko Anttila (Wolfheart, Sabaton etc.). The band’s music gets streamed a lot on all platforms (around 20 000 listeners a month on Spotify, without new releases) and they have gathered a very real fan base following the bands rise. So far Kaunis Kuolematon has released two full-length albums, one EP and several singles. All the recordings of the new album are now finished and they move forward to mixing.

The band’s unique and recognizable sound has expanded Doom Metal’s typical borders, which has gotten them a lot of attention – the sound can go from beautiful melancholy and soft vocals into extreme driven metal and energetic screams. This makes their music appealing to a large audience from many metal subgenres. Singing in Finnish language has also given them a lot of good feedback and increased the interest and mystery of the band.

Mercury Circle

Jaani Peuhu, producer, songwriter and musician from Helsinki, Finland, is the creator of Darkwave electronic band “Iconcrash“, which debuted their first album “Nude” in 2005, followed by two more albums. In 2015 Jaani set out on his solo project and released his first album, “Tear Catcher”. Jaani joined Swallow the Sun while producing their (2019) album “When A Shadow Is Forced Into The Light“, which reached the Finnish album charts at #1. Jaani Peuhu also topped the album charts with writing and producing for German dark rock band Lord of the Lost‘s 2018 album “Thornstar” and was nominated for the Finnish grammy award “Emma“ for Hallatar’s debut album “No Stars Upon The Bridge“ (2018), which he also produced and mixed, along with playing bass live in the band.

Although Jaani Peuhu wanted to focus on his career as a producer, touring with Hallatar and Swallow the Sun made him want to tour with his own music again. He had the unique idea to create the genre of “New Doom”. From that, Mercury Circle was born. This is a new direction of dark metal infused with powerful synth/electro waves and doom. He’s finally returning to vocals to bring you something purely enigmatic.

Night Crowned

In the frozen part of Europe’s northernmost realm, a new slithering seed is festering at the heart of the Swedish scene — known as Night Crowned. Consisting of former and current members of legendary acts such as Dark Funeral, Nightrage and Cipher System and with a musical vision as clear as it is haunting and disturbing, the band created an imposing work full of rage, melancholy and pure destruction, offering a true reawakening of the sounds dormant from the most influential acts and masterpieces of the Scandinavian ‘90s.

With a flawless and relentless mix of aggression, atmosphere and captivating melodies, the album “Impius Viam” truly became a modern-era melo death/black metal classic. Without showing any signs of slowing down, and even while the current release was being carried across the globe, the band started working on their highly anticipated follow-up record, titled “Hädanfärd“. There will be no warning. No antidote, and no remedy. At first you will feel nauseous, then your body will be covered in black boils, and finally both your mind and matter will have been thoroughly infected by the blight that is … Night Crowned.

Indeed, the heavy metal group makes a statement against computerized metal music where it’s hard to know what’s real and what’s not – with this band, praised for their wild energy on stage, what you see is what you get, with no backing tracks; a rarity in the heavy music field these days. Oceanhoarse‘s debut studio album was released in late summer 2021 on Noble Demon.
