Before it is distributed theatrically by UCM.ONE and released nationwide tomorrow by the film label Darling Berlin, the crazy and at the same time loving feature film “Heiko’s World” by director Dominik Galizia will celebrate its premiere tonight at 8:00 pm in the sold-out City Kino Wedding. Many of the actors and actresses, among other things the main actor Martin Rohde, and the film team will be present. After the film there will be a Q&A.
The comedy “Heiko’s World” (German original title “Heikos Welt“) is an ode to – and odyssey through – Berlin’s corner pubs with their very own fauna of original characters. At the center of the tragicomedy “about beer, darts and motherly love” is of course Heiko, embodied by Martin Rohde, who has become a Berlin cult figure at the latest with the YouTube series “Heikos Welt“.
The character became so popular with fans that – according to director Dominik Galizia – something bigger was needed: a feature film that would turn Heiko’s charming world with all its colorful facets into a big whole.
After the premiere in 2021 at the Munich Film Festival – Martin Rohde, who embodies Heiko, was honored here for his “acting performance” with the New German Cinema Award – and celebrated screenings at the achtung berlin Film Festival 2021 and at FILMZ Mainz, Heiko’s World is now coming to the big screens of the Republic on Father’s Day and will make many fan hearts happy.
