Zornheym is a symphonic extreme heavy metal band hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, and led bythe talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Zorn. Departing from his previous involvementwith black metal act Dark Funeral, Zorn set out to redefine the traditional “Metal-meets-Symphony” approach, giving birth to the dramatic and narrative-driven concept of Zornheym.
The band’s sound has been lauded as powerful and cinematic, drawing listeners into a world of horror set within the confines of a mental institution and its inhabitants. With the release of their highly anticipated sophomore full-length record, “The Zornheim Sleep Experiment” via the German Noble Demon label on October 22, 2021, Zornheym continued to captivate audiencesacross Europe with their high-energy and bombastic performances.
The band’s commitment topushing boundaries and storytelling led to the creation of their acoustic follow-up EP, “The Forgotten Inmates” in 2023, which delves even deeper into the band’s dark universe. The band’s dedication to visual art is also evident in their stunning graphic novel, which accompanies each of their albums and provides a closer look at the inmates of the “Zornheym asylum”. The EP “The Forgotten Inmates” serves as the final piece of the puzzle, completing the narrative introduced in their previous works “Where Hatred Dwells and Darkness Reigns” (2017) and “The Zornheim Sleep Experiment” (2021).
