The Stockholm-based dark metal band The Vice has released its brand-new single and the accompanying video for ‘Heydays’. The track, released via Noble Demon, is the first taste of the band’s upcoming studio album, which is currently in the final stages of completion.
Speaking about the song, The Vice say: ““Heydays” is a slightly offbeat pop song from our upcoming album. It has a very strong chorus. It also has a melody that the song revolves around, which exudes an eerie “late summer nights” atmosphere that we found really interesting. With a touch of that classic THE VICE melancholy in the background, the result is a rather unique little piece of music.”
Right from the start, The Vice have always taken the road less travelled, driven by the desire to carve out their own place on the scene. And this gritty, wild-hearted metal/rock/pop fusion – with one foot firmly planted in the windswept, icy north and the other on the grey concrete of the streets – definitely sounds like nothing else.
Dark blackened metal, wild rock ’n’ roll, stylish punk and a hard-hitting hardcore attitude; mixed with a healthy dose of the cultural giants of the 90s such as Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Prince, grunge, Oasis, neometal, Fight Club, The Matrix and Terminator 2, to name but a few. All that and everything in between – we could hardly come any closer to describing the essence of The Vice.
It’s now 2026, and the band is gearing up for their upcoming fourth release. Following last year’s two EPs, “Red Tape Sessions” and “A Great Unrest”, it’s time to make their presence felt once again. And they’re coming armed to the teeth with a series of songs that showcase their off-the-wall, metallic rock ’n’ roll at its very best. Hard-hitting melodies, vicious metal and an uncompromising attitude – all steeped in concrete, neon, frost and madness – that pretty much sums it up. Further details on the album will follow shortly!
