The documentary “Searching Eva” (Darling Berlin) will be shown as a preview at the Berlin Film Night on Monday 9 September 2019. The film by Pia Hellenthal tells the story of Eva – 25, drifting around, Berliner, poet, pet owner, sex worker, virgin, convalescent, housewife, feminist, model – she declares privacy at the age of 14 to be an outdated concept. The film is the story of a young woman who grows up in the age of the Internet, searching for herself and staging herself as a public spectacle. She challenges what a woman should be. Through her fragmented personalities, the film observes the emergence of a generation in which the concept of a fixed identity has become obsolete. A portrait of modern existence.
