There, Paramount+ can also be added on Prime Video for a monthly fee as well. An app is also available for mobile devices and a web-based version for desktop computers.
The film “Nico” by Eline Gehring opened in cinemas in spring 2022, lead actress Sara Fazila was nominated as best actress for this year’s German Film Award.
The film portrays the German-Persian geriatric nurse Nico who, after a racist attack, decides to train karate and never be a victim again. The film’s lead actress and producer is Sara Fazilat, “Nico” is also her graduation film at the DFFB. The camera was taken over by co-writer Francy Fabritz, who deliberately chose a handheld camera and an improvisational approach. Director Eline Gehring felt it was important to put women at the centre and normalise the portrayal of non-white characters. For her portrayal of the main character Nico, Sara Fazilat was awarded in the category “Best Young Actress“ at the Max Ophüls Preis 2021 film festival; the film also received the No Fear Award at First Steps.
Sara Fazilat also won the Bavarian Film Award for “Best Young Actress“ in May 2022 for her acting performance in “Nico“.
