The Leipzig Film Art Fair, Germany’s most important industry gathering for theater operators, distributors, and professionals in the arthouse sector, showcases the diversity of German and international cinema from September 14 to 18, 2026.
At the Leipzig Film Art Fair 2026, UCM.ONE will present three new feature films set to be released in theaters: the documentary “Until We Talk” by Florian Mebes, the romantic comedy “together apart.” by Alexander Conrads, and the melancholic Berlin-set comedy/drama “Plan F” by Ina Balon.

“Plan F” tells the story of sisters Franka (Bärbel Schwarz) and Maya (Ursula Renneke): Franka is a punk, wild and loud, “on the decline,” while Maya has settled into a life of rubber boots, coffee with her parents, and “zero desire for change.” When Franka thinks she has seen her lost youngest sister on the street, she wants to “save” Maya at least—whether she wants it or not. What follows is a chaotic road trip from Brandenburg to Berlin, a night full of arguments, laughter, old guilt, and new honesty. In the end, there is no solution—but perhaps a beginning.

Rami Elhanan’s 14-year-old daughter is killed in West Jerusalem by a bomb set off by a Palestinian suicide bomber. When the grieving father meets the Palestinian Bassam Aramin, a seemingly unlikely friendship develops between the two men. Ten years later, Bassam’s 10-year-old daughter is shot and killed by an Israeli border police officer. But the bond between the two men is strong and withstands this new blow of fate. They continue to work tirelessly for dialogue and reconciliation. When their teenage sons decide to take a different path, their commitment is put to the test once again.

The Leipzig Film Art Fair is a forum—unique in Europe—for collaborative exchange among theater operators, distributors, and professionals from the arthouse industry. From Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18, 2026, the Leipzig Film Art Fair will, for the 26th time, offer a platform where industry professionals can screen films well before their national release, discuss the marketing and potential of individual films, and jointly develop strategies for the future of art cinema through seminars, workshops, and panel discussions.
At the heart of the fair are the film screenings for industry professionals—held well before the national release—at the Passage Kinos and CineStar Leipzig. Accompanying these events, seminars and workshops on current issues in the art house film market will take place at various locations throughout Leipzig. The fair’s side events offer industry participants the opportunity to network and get to know one another, and in the evening, the fair opens to the public with film screenings at the Passage Kinos and the Schauburg Leipzig.
The Leipzig Film Art Fair is an event organized by AG Kino – Gilde deutscher Filmkunsttheater e.V., the association of art house cinemas and film art theaters in Germany.
