Argentinian solo artist Plaguestorm celebrates the three-year anniversary of his last album and today presents the reissue of “Purifying Fire” via Noble Demon.
The re-release includes a bonus track – an instrumental, orchestrated version of the album’s title track, which was previously only available on CD.
Plaguestorm mastermind Sebastián Pastor comments: “Originally this instrumental version was released as a bonus track on the digipack version of the album ‘Purifying Fire’ (2021). To celebrate the album’s 3rd anniversary, Plaguestorm is releasing this track today and making it available digitally for all fans around the world!“
The EP “Empty Eyes” was mixed by Sebastián Pastor and released via the German label Noble Demon. The title track “EmptyEyes” is now also available as a video on YouTube.
Plaguestorm was founded in early 2014 by Sebastián Pastor and delivers a wide range of furious and raging melodic death metal. Sweeping melodies, heavy, gloomy and melancholic arrangements, mixing the old and new Scandinavian sound of death metal as if based on a Swedish production standard. With 9 tracks of anger and rage, desolation and sadness, “Purifying Fire” has been praised by fans and critics alike.
As with his previous releases, Sebastián Pastor was responsible for composing and writing all the lyrics and music (as well as recording the acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums and keyboards/synthesizers/strings), while the vocals are by Mikael Sehlin, known to many as the singer of Amaranthe. For the guitar solos, Plaguestorm got support from Diego Martinez and Pablo Roman, while the orchestral arrangement for the song “Purifying Fire” was done by Sebastián Nuñez Szymanski.
