The latest music video ‘New Aeon Gospel‘ by Finnish industrial metal band King Satan won two awards at theSweden Films Awards in July 2024. The band’s latest music video and the first for Noble Demon won the award for “Best Music Video” and “Best Director for Music Video”, which went to singer and bandleader King Aleister Satan, who also directs, writes and produces the band’s music videos.
The music video for “New Aeon Gospel” has also been recognized at other film festivals, as it was nominated in the “Best Music Video” category at the NYIFA – New York International Film Awards a few weeks ago.
King Satan presents a genre-bending extreme metal spectacle that fuses electro-industrial, symphonic black metal and death metal elements with the raw energy of rock’n’roll, creating a unique blend of shameless shock rock and chaotic avant-garde theater.
Formed in late 2015, the genre-bending group is the brainchild of enigmatic artist Mr. King Aleister Satan (Henget, Saturnian Mist), who over the years has evolved from his electro-aggro-tech origins into a full-fledged industrial metal band.
The vision of extreme metal brings forth an anarchistic blend of carnivalesque artistry, absurdly dark comedy, occult intrigue and profound philosophical musings, served up in a heady mix of rocking dance beats, thought-provoking lyrics, hypnotizing melodies and addictive hooks.
“The upcoming album”’The Devil’s Evangelion‘ will be a concept album focusing on duality and the paradoxical nature of reality. This concept stems from a deceptive narrative that is convinced of being possessed by the devil, leading to an experience of reality through the eyes of the devil,” comment King Satan and reveal further details about the first single: ”New Aeon Gospel as the opening song describes the beginning of this experience, which in the nature of paradoxes can be madness for some and a moment of catharsis for others. We took many influences from ancient religious chants, hymns and psalms to compose the album, and this song is perhaps one of the strongest examples of that, filtered of course through the means of our brand of extreme metal.”
It’s a fusion fit for both dance floors and mosh pits, and one that the band themselves refer to as “death metal disco”. With all of these elements, the band defies convention and embraces controversy in a way that shouldn’t really make much sense on paper – and yet it has consistently helped the band generate more and more buzz wherever they appear.
