As the family announced today, the French actor Michel Piccoli died on May 12, 2020 at the age of 94 from the consequences of a stroke. He was one of the great stars of French cinema and acted in more than 220 films, including classics like “Contempt” by Jean-Luc Godard, “Belle de Jour” and “The Discreet Charme of the Bourgeoisie” by Luis Buñuel or “La Grande Bouffe” by Marco Ferreri, as well as other masterpieces by his contemporary directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, Jacques Demy and Claude Chabrol. Michel Piccoli was considered a particularly versatile performer and was known as an equally successful stage actor.
From the end of the 60’s onwards, he frequently worked with Romy Schneider, starring alongside her in Francis Girod‘s “The Infernal Trio“, which was recently released by UCM.ONE on the label Artkeim² in a lot of countries, as well as “The Things of Life” and “The Passerby“.
