The young Swiss cartoonist Peter Voss is about to marry a wealthy heiress when his uncle loses all bank deposits through bad speculation. To prevent a scandal, Peter stages a spectacular bank robbery of non-existent millions. While he flees around the globe, followed by detective Bobby Dodd, his uncle tries to earn the money back. The chase leads through numerous international locations in a mix of adventure and humor.
