In the midst of the Mexican Revolution, a greedy Polish mercenary named Kowalski joins forces with Paco Roman, an idealistic but naive peasant turned rebel leader. While Kowalski is only interested in being paid for his strategic expertise and weapons training, Paco dreams of true social justice. Their uneasy alliance is constantly tested by their clashing motives and the pursuit of a flamboyant, sadistic American rival named Curly.
