Loosely based on the case of Henry Lee Lucas, the film follows Daniel Ray Hawkins, a drifter who, after his arrest in Texas, calmly confesses to the murder of hundreds of women. He recounts his random choice of victims and the road trips he took with his accomplice Moon and Moon’s sister Molly. Sheriff Gaines can’t be certain whether Hawkins is insane or telling the truth – until the killer leads him to a body and produces Polaroids. A grim proto-slasher that predated ‘Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer’ by a year.
