The turn of the millennium to the year 2000 was the first and perhaps also the last in electronic pop music. The fear of the total computer knockout on New Year’s morning went around. Some even had doomsday fantasies.
The mood inspired many musicians to create epochal art. In techno, perhaps “Millennium” by Cores (originally released on the Noom Records label) best sums up this feeling at the end of the millennium.
