Metal.Rocks

Metal.Rocks is an international 24/7 TV channel (or FAST channel) for rock and metal fans, operated by UCM.ONE in cooperation with Plaion Pictures. The FAST channel brings the diversity of the rock and metal world to smart TVs and streaming platforms – from classics and established bands to the latest releases, newcomers, and hidden gems from the international scene.

The program currently consists mainly of music videos and live concert recordings and is curated daily and regularly updated with new content. Musically, the spectrum ranges from rock to heavy metal to modern and extreme subgenres of metal. In addition to well-known international acts, Metal.Rocks also offers a platform for new and lesser-known artists. The linear programming invites viewers to rediscover familiar music while also getting to know new bands and releases.

The idea behind Metal.Rocks is simple: a channel truly built “by fans, for fans. Under the direction of Patrick Walsh (ex-Nuclear Blast, Noble Demon), the programming is created and curated by people who are themselves an integral part of the global rock and metal scene and who know, live and breathe the music, its artists, and its culture.“ Metal.Rocks is far more than just another FAST channel – it’s a genuine home and vibrant hub for an incredibly passionate worldwide community.

From legendary headliners to fresh underground talent, Metal.Rocks showcases the full spectrum of the scene. The channel discovers new and lesser-known artists, giving them a permanent place alongside established acts. The station thus sees itself as a platform for the international rock and metal community.

Metal.Rocks is currently available via Samsung TV Plus, Rakuten TV, Plex, Pluto TV, and waipu.tv. Through Samsung TV Plus alone, the channel is broadcast in 16 European countries, as well as in Egypt, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. Additional platforms and markets will follow. As a FAST channel (FAST = Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television), Metal.Rocks is available for free and without a traditional TV subscription. FAST channels are ad-supported online TV channels that stream a fixed schedule around the clock, just like traditional television.

Metal.Rocks is available on the following platforms, among others:

Metal.Rocks sees itself as an independent music channel, not an automated playlist. The programming is curated daily and continuously updated. Every week, new music videos, concerts, interviews, documentaries, and other program highlights are added. In this way, Metal.Rocks brings the concept of classic music television into today’s world of streaming and FAST TV. The linear programming allows viewers to rediscover well-known artists and songs while also getting to know new bands, releases, and musical trends.

Metal.Rocks will gradually expand its programming. Plans include a show produced exclusively for Metal.Rocks, interviews, artist profiles, more documentaries, and previews of new releases. Visits to festivals and concerts, featuring original on-site reports and coverage, will also become part of the programming in the future.

The by fans, for fans philosophy will also shape future formats: staying close to the artists, close to the events, and above all, close to the international rock and metal community. At the same time, distribution across additional platforms and markets will be expanded.
