UCM.ONE is bringing the award-winning feature film “Nulpen” (International title: “Slackers”) to German theaters nationwide on Thursday, June 18, 2026 via its distribution label Darling Berlin. Sales is handled by CAMINO Filmverleih (Stuttgart). This marks the first collaboration between UCM.ONE / Darling Berlin and Camino. FELIX NEUNZERLING PR (Berlin) is handling national press relations.
“Slackers” is the debut feature film by director Sorina Gajewski, which also served as her graduation film at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). This portrait of a generation of young people had its world premiere in the feature film competition of the Max Ophüls Prize 2025 and has been screened at numerous international festivals, including Sarajevo, Thessaloniki, Giffoni, and most recently at the Crossing Europe Linz 2026 as an international premiere at the Club YAAAS! Screening. At the Golden Spatz 2025, the film received the award for Best Screenplay; at achtung berlin and the Neiße Film Festival, it received honorable mentions
Ramona and Nico, two friends who have just finished school, are letting the Berlin summer carry them along. When they release their neighbor’s rare bird after playing a prank with a slingshot, and Ramona’s little brother Noah goes missing during a climate protest, they start running away. Reluctantly navigating a politically charged world that demands they take a stand, they encounter moments of quiet poetry and social friction. In their search for the released bird and her little brother, they struggle to preserve their friendship and their belief in themselves—and unexpectedly stumble upon other life stories that offer hope. NULPEN portrays a young generation trying to navigate between the urge for freedom and the pressure of social responsibility. In a world full of uncertainties—marked by the climate crisis and growing resignation—their longing for lightness becomes palpable.
