Repentance from Chicago have announced their third album, “Retaliate”, which is set to be released on July 17, 2026via Noble Demon. Along with the announcement, the band has released the album’s title track as the first single, offering a powerful preview of what promises to be their most powerful and focused album to date.

Repentance was founded in 2018 by guitarist Shaun Glass (ex-Soil, Dirge Within) and has made a name for itself in the modern metal scene with a sound rooted in groove, heavy riffs, technical precision, and relentless intensity. Emerging from the Chicago scene, the band quickly gained popularity and shared the stage with acts such as Trivium, DevilDriver, Jinjer, Sacred Reich, and Toxic Holocaust, among others. Their debut album, “God For A Day” (2020), received critical acclaim and led to a worldwide record deal with the German label Noble Demon in 2021. This partnership marked a new chapter for the band, beginning with the EP “Volume I – Reborn” (2021), which introduced singer Adam Gilley and featured Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu as a guest.
In 2023, Repentance followed up with their second album, “The Process of Human Demise,” a record that further cemented their reputation as a band that combines the intensity of groove metal with the precision of modern thrash. Produced by Alex Lackner and mixed and mastered by Chris Collier, the album also featured guest appearances by Corey Beaulieu and Milo Silvestro (Fear Factory) and drew comparisons to genre giants such as Pantera and Lamb of God.
