Finnish doom metal band Grain of Pain have unveiled a brand new single from their upcoming studio album ‘Behind Us All’, which will be released on 27 March via German label Noble Demon.
The title ‘The Offering’ is released today together with an animated music video that visually captures the haunting atmosphere of the song.
As a follow-up to the first single‘To Burn Inside’,‘The Offering’ gives further insight into the sonic direction of the upcoming album. Combining heavy riffs with melodic depth and a dark, haunting mood, the track emphasises the band’s dynamic approach to doom/death metal while continuing the intensity of the album’s first pre-release.
About the song Timo Solonen says : “You would do anything for your children. You try to help them in this world. It’s about sacrifices you’re willing to make so that the younger generation has a better life. Still, you’re not sure if you’re doing enough.
Juho’s solo is really spot on and Eemeli Bodde’s growls are as powerful as we always hoped they would be. This is melodic doom at its finest. The atmosphere keeps you caught up in the story the whole time.”
Hailing from Finland, Grain of Pain stand for a powerful and emotionally charged interpretation of doom/death metal. At the centre of the band is Timo Solonen, who is responsible for the songwriting and also handles growls and guitars. Lars Eikind (Before The Dawn), who has already been honoured with a Spellemannsprisen (Norwegian Grammy), is responsible for bass and clean vocals.
Juho Räihä (guitars, additional screams) and Juuso Raatikainen (drums) – both of whom won a Finnish Grammy in 2025 with Swallow the Sun – join the band as session musicians. Drawing on a wide range of influences, Grain of Paincombine dark atmospheres with powerful melodies to create songs that resonate long after the last note has faded.
After signing with German metal specialists Noble Demon in April 2024 for their debut album‘The Moon Lights The Way’, Grain of Pain are now following up with their second studio album ‘Behind Us All’ , which will be released in March 2026.
