The “Festival del film Locarno” – this year from 7 to 17 August 2019 – is the 72nd edition of the well-known international film festival, which has taken place in the city of Locarno in Switzerland since 1946. Following the departure of artistic director Carlo Chatrian to the Berlinale, Frenchwoman Lili Hinstin will be responsible for the programme for the first time. The main feature of the festival is, of course, the open-air stage on the “Piazza Grande” with space for over 8,000 spectators and one of the largest open-air systems in the world (26 × 14 metres). The Locarno Festival is known throughout the world as the Festival of Discovery. The main prize of the festival is the “Golden Leopard“, awarded to the best film of the international competition.
UCM.ONE will be there from 8th to 12th August to meet new people new films and meet existing and new potential partners. With the film labels Darling Berlin, Artkeim² and NONFY Documentaries, UCM.ONE is also represented at several panels and meetings of the film industry.
