On 19 March 2024, the nominations for the German Film Awards 2024 were announced by the German Film Academy.
UCM.ONE congratulates Adele Neuhauser on her nomination in the category “Best Female Supporting Role“ in the feature film “15 Years” by Chris Kraus. Adele Neuhauser can currently also be seen in the comedy “Surviving Brandenburg” (German title. “Überleben in Brandenburg“) by Zoltan Paul and Ben von Grafenstein (produced by Clementina Hegewisch, Jan Kerhart and Sandra Maischberger), which UCM.ONE will release in cinemas across Germany on the Darling Berlin label from 11 April 2024 and also distribute worldwide.
About Adele Neuhauser
Born in Athens, Adele Neuhauser moved with her family from Greece to Vienna at the age of four, where she grew up. Adele Neuhauser wanted to be an actress from the age of six. After training as an actress, she began performing on stage, including in Münster, Essen, Mainz and occasionally in Vienna.
Neuhauser caused a national sensation in the production of “Faust” at the Regensburg City Theatre, in which she played Mephisto as a woman. She has also appeared in cinema films such as “Helden in Tirol” (directed by Niki List), “Gone – eine tödliche Leidenschaft” (directed by Zoltan Paul), “Wo ist Fred?” (director: Anno Saul), “Die Perlmutterfarbe” (director: Marcus H. Rosenmüller, “3faltig” (director: Harald Sicheritz), “Räuber Kneißl” (director: Marcus H. Rosenmüller) and in the cult TV series “Vier Frauen und ein Todesfall“, in which she played the role of farmer’s wife Jule Zirbner. Most recently, she was seen on ORF in the film “Steiererrausch” (director: Wolfgang Murnberger) and in the mini-series “Unter Freunden stirbt man nicht” on TV Now (director: Felix Stienz).
At the Munich Film Festival 2021, she celebrated a great success as the lead role in the ARD comedy “Faltenfrei” and last year she once again took on the lead role in the film “Ungeschminkt“, directed by Dirk Kummer.
Since 2010, she has successfully played the investigator Bibi Fellner alongside Harald Krassnitzer (as Moritz Eisner) in ORF‘s Vienna crime series. Since 2014, she has also appeared in the literature & music productions “Die letzten ihrer Art” and “Mythos” together with her son, guitarist Julian Pajzs.
The German Film Prize (formerly the Federal Film Prize), often referred to as the Lola, has been awarded since 1951 and is considered the most prestigious award for German film. With prize money totalling almost three million euros, it is the most highly endowed German cultural award. The German Film Prize is awarded annually in the spring/summer, broadcast alternately by ARD and ZDF, and produced by Deutsche Filmakademie Produktion GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German Film Academy. The film award is symbolised by the Lola statuette, which is awarded in gold to the winners of the various categories. In the “Best Feature Film“ category, it is also awarded in bronze and silver.
The announcement of the nominations took place in a new setting this year: Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth and the presidential duo of the German Film Academy, Alexandra Maria Lara and Florian Gallenberger, presented seven nominations live on ARD’s Mittagsmagazin programme. Immediately beforehand, Film Academy board member Dennenesch Zoudé and Film Prize ambassador Lucas Reiber had announced the nominations in ten film disciplines in a livestream on the ARD Mediathek. The underlying voting procedure was also new this year: For the first time, the more than 2,200 members of the German Film Academy were able to vote directly on the submitted films – and not, as previously, via a reduced pre-selection made by a commission. In addition, for the first time, all members were able to vote for the “Best Feature Film“ and the “Best Children’s Film“ during the nomination phase. Another new feature is that from 2024, set decorators will also be nominated and honoured in the Best Production Design category alongside production designers.
The award ceremony will take place on 3 May 2024 in Berlin. Members have until 30 April to vote in the second stage to decide who will be the Lola winner on stage on 3 May 2024. ARD will broadcast the award ceremony live in the ARD Mediathek at 7.30 pm and on linear television at 10.20 pm.
