Industrial metallers King Satan have released another musical taster from their highly anticipated new album, “The Devil’s Evangelion”, which is due to be released on November 8th via Noble Demon.
After the two singles “Chaos Forever Now” (featuring Nachtmahr) and “New Aeon Gospel” with its award-winning music video, the band offers a further insight into the soon-to-be-released album with their latest video and single “Abyss Of The Souls”.
“We chose ‘Abyss of the Souls’ as the third single because the song is a good example of the mixture of melancholy and anger that we express in our music through the raw energy of rock’n’roll and extreme metal. For the music video, I wanted to do something different again, because it should be clear by now that I play with many different styles when I make music videos. This time, I wanted to take a more minimalist approach to capture a certain feeling of alienation and being an outsider, which the song’s theme also flirts with,” comment King Satan, and further explain the album’s concept: “‘The Devil’s Evangelion’ will be a concept album centered around duality and the paradoxical nature of reality. This concept stems from a trickster-like narrative that is convinced of being possessed by the devil, leading to an experience of reality through the eyes of the devil.”
King Satan presents a genre-spanning extreme metal spectacle that fuses electro-industrial, symphonic black metal and death metal elements with the raw energy of rock’n’roll, creating a unique blend of shameless shock rock and chaotic avant-garde theater.
Formed in late 2015, the genre-bending group is the product of enigmatic artist Mr. King Aleister Satan (“Henget”, “Saturnian Mist”), who has grown from his electro-aggrotech origins to a full-fledged industrial metal band over the years. The vision of extreme metal brings forth an anarchic blend of carnivalesque artistry, darkly absurd comedy, occult intrigue and profound philosophical musings, served up in a heady mix of rockin’ dance beats, thought-provoking lyrics, mesmerizing melodies and addictive hooks that the band themselves describe as “death metal disco”. A fusion that is suitable for both dance floors and mosh pits.
With all these elements, the band defies convention and embraces controversy in a way that shouldn’t really make much sense on paper – and yet it has helped the band time and again to generate more and more enthusiasm wherever they appear.
King Satan will also be celebrating the release of the album on the following dates with performances by The Abbey, Miseria Ultima and Pracidisti, as well as a special pre-launch party at which King Satan will be supporting Fear of Domination.
