Finnish melodic doom metallers Red Moon Architect have released their eagerly awaited sixth studio album ‘October Decay’, out today via Noble Demon. It is the band’s first album in five years, and judging by the first audio samples, it was more than worth the wait.

Hailing from Kouvola, Finland,Red Moon Architect have carved a respected niche for themselves in the doom metal scene, earning critical acclaim with each new release. Originally the solo vision of drummer Saku Moilanen, the project has evolved through various iterations to its current strong lineup, led by the captivating vocals of Ville Rutanen.

Following their 2020 Noble Demon release ‘Emptiness Weighs The Most’, ‘October Decay’ represents another significant chapter in Red Moon Architect ‘s impressive discography. They have traversed various landscapes on their sonic journey, most notably with 2019’s “Kuura”, which ventured into darker, black metal-influenced realms. Previous albums such as ‘Fall’ (2015) and ‘Return of the Black Butterflies’ (2017) are further evidence of the band’s evolution and their relentless endeavour to create profound doom metal.

Over the course of their career, Red Moon Architect have cemented their reputation not only through their studio work, but also by sharing stages with genre titans such as Amorphis, Swallow The Sun, Moonsorrow, Insomnium and Wolfheart and gracing the stages of numerous metal festivals.

To celebrate the release of the album, Red Moon Architect also unveil the track ‘The Depths’. The band gives the following insight into the song: ‘The Depths is a slow-burning journey through grief and loneliness, like being submerged in an ocean of despair. It’s the kind of song that feels both crushing and strangely soothing. A perfect balance of heaviness and tragic beauty’.
