Der Clou an ihrem Plan: Sie haben bereits im Vorfeld ein komplexes Virus in das Computersystem des Pentagon eingeschleust, der das gesamte Militär und alle Verteidigungsmöglichkeiten lahmlegt.
Die IT-Wissenschaftlerin Dr. Meili Liu (Bai Ling) arbeitet nun fieberhaft daran, das Verteidigungssystem wieder instand zu setzen und die Abfangjäger in die Luft zu bekommen. Doch es bleiben nur 60 Minuten Zeit, bevor das entführte Flugzeug das Kraftwerk erreicht. Einzig ein voll besetztes Passagierflugzeug befindet sich in Reichweite der entführten Maschine – doch ist man bereit, diesen Preis zu zahlen, um eine noch größere Katastrophe zu verhindern?

Two top Russian terrorists hijack an American airliner and plan to crash it into a nuclear power plant near Washington, D.C.. The resulting nuclear catastrophe would level much of the US East Coast. The twist in their plan is that they have already planted a complex virus in the Pentagon’s computer system in advance that will cripple the entire military and all defence capabilities.
