The production and financing company Kodachrome, which was first presented at the Berlinale 2025, is entering the distribution market through a strategic partnership with UCM.ONE and will also be appearing as a buyer of film rights for the first time at upcoming film markets.
As part of the cooperation agreement now concluded with UCM.ONE, Kodachrome is expanding its activities beyond production (alongside Leonine and Kordes & Kordes, Kodachrome is co-producer of ‘Die Schule der magischen Tiere 4’ and the Austrian film ‘Neo Nuggets’) and financing, and will in future be increasingly involved in the acquisition and development of its own rights portfolio. UCM.ONE brings its many years of experience in cinema, home entertainment and digital distribution to the table. The first joint digital and physical releases will take place in the first quarter of 2026.
‘We are very pleased to be taking the next step with Kodachrome together with UCM.ONE and Joachim Keil,’ says Michael Müllner, Managing Director of Kodachrome. ‘In UCM.ONE, we have not only found a distributor that supports us with comprehensive expertise in everything from cinema to digital distribution, but also a partner with whom we want to grow together.’
UCM.ONE Managing Director Joachim Keil also sees the cooperation as ‘a forward-looking combination of production expertise and sales experience that makes it possible to strategically support content at an early stage and optimise its evaluation.’
‘Neo Nuggets – Eine Pulled-Pork-Komödie’ is an Austrian crime comedy by director and screenwriter Andreas Schmied, produced by Samsara Filmproduktion under the direction of Loredana Rehekampff and Andreas Schmied. The leading roles are played by Paul Pizzera, Otto Jaus, Gizem Emre, Melissa Naschenweng and Benno Fürmann. The film is distributed in Austria by Constantin Film. It was shot over a total of 28 days in February and March 2025 in Vienna and Styria. The plot revolves around Florian ‘Flo’ Kienzl, Edgar ‘Eddi’ Kovac and Samira Leoni, who grew up together in the fictional town of Krutzlerheim. When Samira, who had been missing for a long time, suddenly reappears, the three embark on a turbulent adventure that leads them on the trail of a conspiracy surrounding the mysterious Thilo Mannheim. His goal: to recover the legendary ‘treasure in Lake Toplitz’ – a plan that draws them deep into the machinations of international secret services.
UCM.ONE will handle the distribution of the film from November 2025 in selected cinemas in Germany and Northern Italy, as well as worldwide digital and physical distribution in 2026.
