The film “Datsche” by Lara Hewitt opens as German premiere the first international film festival in Stolpe with the subtitle: “Wonderous Stories”. For the festival premiere, Marcel Grant has selected a total of 28 films with an international board of trustees, including 15 feature films by filmmakers from Germany, France, Italy, England, Belgium, China, Argentina, Mexico, USA, Poland, Ukraine and the Netherlands. Among them are several premieres, films of the Berlinale and the film “3 Days in Qiberon” with the last interview by Romy Schneider.
The film is about the New York actor Valentin Hermann, who moves after the death of his grandfather in the allotment garden of a Berlin suburb. In the attic of the inherited dacha he finds Adam, an Ethiopian hiding from the imminent deportation from Germany. The harmony of secret WG life is put to the test by the curiosity of the neighbors. And Valentine’s offer on a couchsurfing platform just complicates things. Refreshing summer fairytale about friendships that go beyond garden fences and borders.
