2 Native: Carried by an organic rhythm and subtle percussion elements, Native Leandros expresses African influences with understated elegance. Earthy warmth and a rich, soul-infused sound make this track a journey that moves both body and mind.
Leandro Silva discovered his love of music at a young age when he recorded his own playlists on cassettes for friends.
Growing up in Angola during the heyday of a unique African socialist movement, he was surrounded by a diverse universe of sounds: Caribbean merengue, Antillean zouk, salsa as well as traditional Angolan and African rhythms such as kizomba, samba and rebita characterised his musical horizon.
Despite difficult living conditions and limited resources, the environment was rich in creativity, culture and sound – a foundation that still resonates in Leandro’s music today and fills his productions with an unmistakable depth and soul.
