Dawn of Solace, the Finnish masters of melancholy metal, have released their latest work, “Affliction Vortex”. The album is released by Noble Demon and promises to cement the band’s place at the forefront of the genre.
Dawn of Solace was founded in 2005 as a creative outlet for Tuomas Saukkonen (Wolfheart, Before the Dawn) and quickly established itself with the debut album “The Darkness” (2006). Despite a hiatus due to legal complications, the band’s loyal fan base remained steadfast and kept the flame alive. A successful return came in 2019 with the signing of a contract with Noble Demon. This partnership revived Dawn of Solace and led to two successful albums – “Waves” (2020) and “Flames of Perdition” (2022) – as well as an unplugged EP.
In early 2024, the band entered the studio, determined to craft their most versatile album yet.
Dawn of Solace‘s artistic development has reached a new pinnacle with “Affliction Vortex”. The album takes the listener on a dark and intense journey through Finnish melancholy and will thrill fans of atmospheric and emotional metal.
To celebrate the release of the album, Dawn of Solace have released the track “Dream”.
Mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen comments on the choice of the single as follows: “Dream may not be the most typical DoS single song, but the song’s propulsive beat and steady groove made it impossible to ignore as an obvious single choice. Like a train racing through the night, and a full moon lighting the view.”
Dawn of Solace consists of Tuomas Saukkonen (drums, guitars, bass and growl vocals), Mikko Heikkilä (clean and growl vocals), Saku Moilanen (keyboard) and Jukka Salovaara (guitar solos).
The album “Affliction Vortex” is available from today on CD, limited vinyl edition and in digital formats.
The CD in a Digipak, the strictly limited edition LP in brown marbled vinyl, the two t-shirt designs and the zipped hoodie from “Affliction Vortex” can be pre-ordered from today.
