From today, the complete four-part True Crime duku “Lubi – ein Polizist stürzt ab” (English translation: “Lubi – a policeman crashes”) can be seen on Netflix in Germany, Austria and Switerland. The high-end documentary series is based on the successful podcast of the same name. Rolf L. ‘s accounts are supplemented by accomplices, officers from the LKA (State Office of Criminal Investigation in Berlin) and Europol as well as people from his environment and provide information about his path into crime and the allure of the forbidden.
The award-winning documentary filmmaker Jan Peter accompanies the former policeman “Lubi” between the announcement of his sentence and the start of his prison term and delves deep into his double life.
Summary
Berlin policeman Rolf L., known to the world as “Lubi”, works on the hotspot patrol in Görlitzer Park. What none of his colleagues can suspect: The narcotics officer is himself a cocaine addict. After an accident on duty, his carefully maintained double life begins to falter: he finds himself involved in an international car trafficking ring for which he drives luxury cars all over Europe. But then the LKA catches on to him.
