Melodic doom metal band Red Moon Architect have announced their sixth studio album “October Decay”, which will be released on April 17th via Noble Demon. Based in Kouvola, Finland, the band has earned a firm place in the doom metal scene with their critically acclaimed albums. Red Moon Architect, originally a solo project of drummer Saku Moilanen, have evolved through various line-up changes and now culminate in their current formation with Ville Rutanen on vocals.
Following their 2020 album “Emptiness Weighs The Most”, also released by Noble Demon, “October Decay” adds another chapter to Red Moon Architect ‘s impressive discography. Their musical journey has seen them explore different soundscapes, most notably with 2019’s “Kuura”, a release that ventured into darker, black metal-influenced realms. Previous albums such as “Fall” (2015) and “Return of the Black Butterflies” (2017) are further evidence of the band’s evolution and commitment to creating captivating doom metal. Over the years, Red Moon Architect have shared the stage with high profile acts such as Amorphis, Swallow The Sun, Moonsorrow, Insomnium and Wolfheart and cemented their reputation by performing at numerous metal festivals.
With “First of October”, Red Moon Architect have today released the first single from their forthcoming album. The track is accompanied by a music video, which can be viewed today on YouTube and elsewhere.
“‘First of October’ unfolds with crushing heaviness and sad grace. The heaviness of loss resonates in every note, while haunting melodies drift along like echoes from a forgotten past. This is doom metal at its best – devastatingly heavy yet achingly melancholic, drawing the listener deeper and deeper into its hypnotic abyss,” says the band Red Moon Architect about the current single.
