Over the last two years, British alternative metal band Neonfly has made a remarkable return to the world’s stages and risen to new heights after the deprivations of the pandemic. Opening for renowned bands such as Epica and Escape The Fate, headlining their first tour in Mexico and taking the main stages at festivals across Europe, the band has earned themselves a firm place on the international metal scene. This journey culminated in a massive, unforgettable performance at Spain’s Ripollet Rock Festival in August 2020, where Neonfly played to almost 10,000 fans in prime time.
This show provided the band with an opportunity to realise their full live potential, and Neonfly spared no expense in making it one of their most remarkable performances to date. With the biggest stage production in the band’s history, including Frederick Thunder’s signature fire breathing, two fire artists and an incredible light show, the British metal band delivered an electrifying experience.
Neonfly have released a brand new music video for their single ‘The Future, Tonight’ to capture the moment. The video, which features a song that also includes a guest appearance by Soilwork’s Björn Strid on the studio version, is a testament to the band’s tireless dedication over the past two years and highlights Neonfly‘s unparalleled energy and the close connection they have with their fans.
‘We’ve always said that Neonfly is a band that NEVER takes an audience for granted, and our performance at Ripollet Rock proves that once again,’ says guitarist Frederick Thunder.
‘Although we had a prime slot and a huge audience, we didn’t just turn up and play – we meticulously planned this show for months, determined to deliver an experience beyond anyone’s expectations. We personally invested in capturing the entire show on film and audio with a team of cameras and a drone. What you see is the result of our commitment to our craft and our fans – always with the aim of delivering the best possible performance.’
‘The Future, Tonight’ is the title track of the band’s latest studio album, which was released in 2021 on the German label Noble Demon.
Neonfly have big plans for the future. All of Ripollet Rock‘s audio and video material was recorded with a possible live CD/DVD release in 2025 in mind. In the meantime, the band will take a short break from touring to focus on writing and releasing new material in the coming year.
