The time has come! The infamous Asylum film studio is getting its own mockbuster! If “Sharknado” was still too close to reality for you, you can now breathe a sigh of relief, because in “Monsternado” there are not only many more creatures from prehistoric times and the oceans, but also the “Three Angels of the FBI”, who clean up the monsters and put a stop to a trafficking ring…
UCM.ONE is bringing the film “Monsternado” to the German market on the M-Square Pictures label. The film will be released in a media book strictly limited to 500 copies as well as on Blu-Ray and DVD. Of course, the film will also be available digitally and for streaming.
Synopsis
Coming from the Bermuda Triangle, numerous tornadoes threaten the east coast of the USA. Matt (Derek Miller), a weather researcher and amateur meteorologist, has been observing the phenomenon for many years. But the extent of the storms and, above all, the prehistoric animals they now bring with them, exceeds all fears. But the authorities ignore Matt’s warnings and soon the people of Florida have to barricade themselves in their homes. Because megalodons, prehistoric crocodiles, giant crustaceans and giant octopuses soon threaten the beaches and city centers.
Trapped in a hotel complex where the FBI and Interpol are simultaneously trying to break up a human trafficking ring, a desperate fight for survival begins.
Forget “Sharknado”! This storm brings giant squids, primeval crocodiles and lots of other sea monsters as a worldwide Blu-ray premiere in a stylish mediabook!
The Bermuda Triangle
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is a sea area in the Atlantic Ocean. It lies north of the Caribbean between South Florida, Puerto Rico and Bermuda. This area gained its mysterious reputation as a result of several ship and aircraft disasters that actually or supposedly took place there. Some of the incidents, in which ships, airplanes or their crews are said to have disappeared without a trace, could not be fully explained and inspired various authors to write numerous literary works and make many films. So it’s no wonder that the origin of the storm in “Monsternado” can also be found at this location.
Comments on the movie
“Monsternado is certainly a bad movie, but mostly pretty funny! Some of the monsters are even pretty well made!” (activecontext.net)
“The biggest flaw in Monsternado is reconciling the linearity of the movie with the desire to have a bunch of different creatures show up in the last 30 minutes or so. Until then, the movie does pretty well, but it gets more and more absurd as it moves further toward the finale.” (HorrorDNA.com)
“The target audience for Monsternado is fans of absurd creature features who have a soft spot for prehistoric monsters.” (HorrorDNA.com)
“It’s the first time anyone has turned the tables and taken aim at The Asylum.” (Voicesofthebalcony.com)
“Sharknado part 6.5 or what? Now The Asylum is being ripped off and imitated.” (ofdb-Review)
“Sharknado can pack it in – here comes Monsternado.” (filmstarts.de)
