Finnish masters of melancholy, Kaunis Kuolematon, have announced the release of their fifth album, “Kun Valo Minussa Kuoli,” which will be released on November 28, 2025, via Noble Demon. The band continues its journey through the darkest corners of doom and death metal, bringing with it a uniquely Finnish sense of sorrow, beauty, and permanence.
As a first taste, Kaunis Kuolematon have released the powerful single “Merta” today, accompanied by a brand new music video that deals intensively with themes such as emotional alienation and inner turmoil. The band comments: “Are you really okay? When the wheel of life has pulled you completely into its voracious center, when your needs and even yourself have become alien to you—when your minutes are lost and vanish into thin air.”

Since their formation in 2012, Kaunis Kuolematon have steadily created a unique soundscape that transcends genre boundaries. With a mixture of brutal heaviness and emotional depth, they have become a powerful voice in the Finnish metal scene – and with this new album, they continue to refine their special combination of melancholy and intensity. The band hails from Hamina and has retained its original lineup since the beginning – a rarity in today’s music world. Their previous albums, “Kylmä kaunis maailma” (2014), “Vapaus” (2017), “Syttyköön toinen aurinko” (2020), and “Mielenvalta” (2023), each reflect specific moments in time – always changing, but consistent in their vision.
Although Kaunis Kuolematon is often associated with doom and death metal, their identity extends far beyond genre boundaries. Their fundamental attitude remains positive and forward-looking. The success of “Mielenvalta” (2023, Noble Demon) – which reached number 6 on the official Finnish physical album charts – as well as sold-out club shows and strong festival performances show how much their perseverance and sincerity resonate with fans.
With “Kun Valo Minussa Kuoli” on the horizon, Kaunis Kuolematon are now preparing to once again transport listeners to a world where melancholy reigns supreme—and every note tells a story of beauty in darkness.
