With the second single from the album “Replacement Dreams”, announced for 2025, Der Dritte Raum returns with an impressive double release. The two tracks, “Feel Good Item” and “Artificial Hallucination,” exemplify the breadth and diversity of Andreas Krüger’s sound design: from bright, driving euphoria to deeply hypnotic club functionality.

Tracklist:

  1. Feel Good Item: A technoid energy boost with warm synth stabs, playful rhythmic accents, and a light-footed groove. The track conveys freedom of movement and lightness without losing any pressure—ideal for festival sunsets or euphoric peak-time moments in clubs. Feel Good Item is a prime example of Krüger’s ability to combine functionality with emotion.
  2. Artificial Hallucination: In contrast, this track presents itself as a hypnotic sound expedition. With modular loop design, spiraling sequences, and synthetic dreamscapes, Artificial Hallucination unfolds a trance-like effect. The intensity gradually increases, but remains rhythmically precise – a club tool for long, immersive DJ sets that transports listeners into deep mental spaces.

Two tracks that unite opposites: euphoric and light on the one hand, hypnotic and deep on the other.

Der Dritte Raum  is a project by German producer Andreas Krüger that has been active since the early 1990s. Andreas Krüger took his first big step in 1994 when he gave Sven Väth a demo tape, which led to its release on the influential label Harthouse. Early classics such as “Wellenbad” and “Trommelmaschine” were released there, which are now considered milestones of progressive techno.

Der Dritte Raum is the long-standing project of German producer Andreas Krüger from Göttingen. Der Dritte Raumcaused a stir back in 1994 when he handed DJ Sven Väth a demo tape – which led to his first release on the Harthouse label. Musically, the sound is characterized by distinctive, short snare drums, complex hi-hat patterns, concise bass lines, unusual sound colors, and flanger effects. His style is based on progressive techno, acid, Goa, and trance influences – always with a hypnotic blend of structure and groove. As a live act, Der Dritte Raum has won numerous awards, not least for its ability to reshape electronic sound in real time. With releases on Harthouse and Virgin, Andreas Krüger has continuously developed his stylistic essence – to the point of creating electronic music with a funky, kaleidoscopic expression.

The style of Der Dritte Raum is characterized by progressive techno, acid, and trance influences, combined with distinctive bass lines, complex hi-hat structures, and experimental effects such as flangers and unusual timbres. Krüger’s music is always characterized by structure, hypnotic density, and a unique groove that works both on headphones and on large dance floors. Der Dritte Raum is also considered exceptional live: with improvisational use of modular systems, synthesizers, and laptops, spontaneous reinterpretations of his pieces are created, making each set a unique experience. This approach has secured him a place among the best German live acts on the electronic scene for decades.
