About Peter Millowitsch

The son of the well-known and famous Cologne folk actor Willy Millowitsch was born in Cologne on February 1, 1949. Even as a child, he played alongside his father in Cologne in the family Millowitsch Theater. He attended an acting school in Hamburg and succeeded his father as theater manager of the Millowitsch Theater in Cologne. Peter Millowitsch works not only for his theater but also for television. In many television series he was and is to be seen. For the cinema, he has appeared in only a few films, mainly alongside Roy Black. His private hobby is car racing. He drives endurance races in his own race car in the German Endurance Cup.

About Elke Aberle

Elke Aberle was born in Neuss on July 1, 1950, the daughter of a postal worker. Very early, at the age of only five, she appeared in motion pictures. Her first well-known role was that of the nestling “Julchen” in the family comedies with Heinz Erhardt “Witwer mit fünf Töchtern” and the sequel “Vater Mutter und neun Kinder“. However, she was rarely cast in leading roles in feature films. Only in Wolfgang Staudte‘s “Das Lamm“, where she plays a young village lolita, and Rainer Werner Fassbinder‘s “Ich will doch nur, dass ihr mich liebt” where she plays a psychologist, were major roles in feature films. Elke Aberle was and is a theater actress. Since her early youth, her love belongs to the theater. She also works for television. She can often be seen there in many episodes of various television series and in television films. In 1965, she received the Bambi for best young actress.

Filming for “Schwarzwaldfahrt aus Liebeskummer” took place in October and November 1973 in the Upper Black Forest, in Todtmoos, Grafenhausen and Wendlingen. The wedding ceremony was filmed in the magnificent baroque monastery church of St. Peter in the Black Forest. German theatrical release was on March 08, 1974 in Constantin-Filmverleih.

About James Last

James Last was born under his civil name Hans Last on April 17, 1929 in Bremen. Since the first wife of his father Louis had died early and he was alone with three children, he married Martha Rex, his second wife. This marriage also produced three children and Hansi was the nestling! He was already very musical as a child and his parents sent him to a music academy in Frankfurt in 1943, when he was only 14 years old. The school had just started when an air raid destroyed the buildings and Hans Last was transferred to the Bückeburg Army Music School. Hansi Last learned the double bass there. In June 1945 Last became a professional musician. He had the opportunity to work as a pianist in American clubs in Bremen. Radio Bremen became aware of him and he became bass player in the Dance Orchestra of Radio Bremen when this station started broadcasting on December 23, 1945. Along the way he played, often together with his brothers, in small formations on colorful evenings, birthday parties or in pubs – mainly jazz. At the first German Jazz Festival in Frankfurt in 1953, an all-star band was formed from the best musicians. In the line-up Paul Kuhn: piano, Max Greger: tenor saxophone, Günter Fuhlisch: trombone, Fred Bunge: trumpet, Teddy Paris: drums and Hans Last: bass, a recording of this unique line-up was released by the Telefunken company.

Hans Last enforced his own album at Polydor and recorded the album with his own orchestra titles in his, later so popular Happy Sound. The release exceeded all expectations. The album sold magnificently. Between 1963 and 1973, Hans Last, who in the meantime had adopted the stage name James Last at Polydor‘s insistence, received no less than 100 gold records! James Last frequently went on tour with his orchestra. Especially in England he found great recognition. He loved to perform at the Royal Albert Hall, which was always sold out. James Last gave many concerts in the Royal Albert Hall. Even if the hall was fully booked, a date was always cleared for James Last. An English newspaper once said: “On the black market you can get a ticket for the final of the World Cup, or an invitation to the Queen’s garden party, but certainly not a ticket for a James Last concert”. James Last toured the world in the 1990s and 2000s. He played in many cities around the globe. One of his most famous songs, “The Lonely Shepherd” was used for the television series “The Gold of the Desert“. 25 years later, Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino made the title the leitmotif in the movie “Kill Bill.” James Last‘s soundtracks for the films “Morgens um sieben ist die Welt noch in Ordnung“, “Schwarzwaldfahrt aus Liebeskummer” with Roy Black, and “Der Kapitän” with Heinz Rühmann are also famous. After only a short, serious illness, James Last died on June 9, 2015 at his estate in West Palm Beach (Florida) at the age of 86.
