In memory of our friend and long-time companion Lukas Greenberg, who passed away on April 6, 2016, we have put together the “In Memory Of” compilation. This compilation was created to celebrate Lukas’ musical legacy and honour his passion for deep house music.
Lukas Greenberg, whose real name was Nicolas Jakoby, began his musical career in the early 90s as a hip-hop DJ. He later switched to techno and house and played in renowned clubs such as Tresor, 90Grad and KitKat in Berlin. He founded his own label “Synphon Records” and was one of the regular artists on the “Plastic City” label, which also released his albums.
With carefully selected tracks, we present a tribute to a friend, mentor and artist of the electronic music scene. Every beat tells a story, every song brings you closer to Lukas Greenberg’sunique sound.
His two albums “”Rhode’ Stories” and “Prisoner With A Key” in particular are unforgettable sound journeys for the deep house genre and are still among the most outstanding album releases on the “Plastic City” label over the last 30 years.
This compilation is more than just music – it is above all a tribute to an unforgettable artist who left us far too soon.
