Recently, more and more meteorites are hitting the earth and causing devastating damage. But this is only the prelude to a possible global catastrophe, which is caused by a huge meteorite field approaching the earth. Should this bombardment pass the atmosphere unscathed, it could mean the end of the Earth. The only way out seems to be a coordinated nuclear strike by all world powers to eliminate the threat from space. But contrary to the assessment of the military led by Colonel Singh (Eric Roberts), scientist Gwen Armstrong (Kate Watson) is sceptical. Something seems to slow down the speed of the meteorites. But what is the reason for this? When she finds out the catastrophic cause, time is running out and the military is on its way to aim at the wrong target. Will she still be able to stop Armageddon?
