| Description EN | Set against the backdrop of the Northern Ireland conflict, the story follows Sean Pius „Gingy“ McAnally, a man desperately trying to leave his violent past behind. Coerced by the IRA leadership into performing a rocket attack on a judge, Gingy is eventually caught by a British patrol led by Lt. David Ferris. In custody, he meets the cold and calculating Chief Inspector Rennie, who presents him with a choice: spend the rest of his life in prison and lose his family, or become an informant for the British government. Gingy chooses to cooperate, but the price of his freedom is the safety of his wife and children. The film masterfully explores the moral gray areas of the „Troubles,“ showing how both the IRA and the British authorities use individuals as pawns in a much larger political game. |
