For the first time, five Antifa activists speak publicly about the background and practices of a movement that confronted the growing neo-Nazi scene after 1989. The racist pogroms of that time gave rise to an exceptionally professional anti-fascist movement in the 1990s and 2000s, whose work ranged from militant actions to awareness campaigns and investigative research. Archival material and personal accounts merge into an intense documentary that not only looks back, but also exposes the layers that obscure the myth of Antifa. A movement that led to violent overreactions from the state and the public, yet was always necessary.
