The film crew and the musicians experience life how the director more and more loses control over himself and the film project because of the love adventure with Nahoko. Finally, after a boozed night, they not only end up in bed together but oversleep and nearly miss an important appointment. Emma, the producer shows her partner the red card. Consequently, the director breaks up with Nahoko. And Nahoko disappears in a crying attack with the entire production notes, all dates and all tickets – and the notebook of Emma. Chaos. Anger. Major tension in the group. Now the director needs to find Nahoko at any price and bring her back…

Rückenwind von vorn | Away You Go

by Philipp Eichholtz

Growing up is easy – and growing up is difficult? The Berlin girl Charlie finds it damn hard to keep the expectations of her environment and her own apart. Her boyfriend, Marco, wants a child, and her colleague, Gerry, surmises, unsolicited, “Five years together? Well, surely you’re three of you soon …? “But Charlie is not at all sure: Is it nice to have a child, or does she herself disappear with her needs? Charlie is challenged quite a bit in her job as a teacher, and things are not going well with Marco. Everything was so wonderfully easy and spontaneous in the beginning.

She would like some of the excitement of yesteryear when she went dancing in the morning. Others find it easier: Gerry buys a caravan and wants to drift towards the Balkans, her best friend breaks with her backpack to Asia. And then Charlie’s beloved, fun-loving granny gets sick too. Is that how it is to be an adult?

One day, on one of her raids, Lea observes five boys hauling a large oil drum over the fence of the paint factory and racing away with their loot on a bicycle trailer.

Lea’s curiosity is aroused. At the next opportunity she follows the boys and discovers that they have built a raft on a small lake. Rakete Perelman | Rocket Perelman

by Oliver Alaluukas

How do we want to live together? In the middle of Brandenburg’s nowhere between green meadows, techno and theater ten people answer this question in their own way. In the artists’ colony Rocket Perelman they live their version of freedom and independence – each for themselves and all together.

New in the rocket is Jen. In her mid-twenties she’s out of the city, out of the industry and into a new life. But the rocket needs money and the solution, how could it be otherwise, is in the art, more precisely in a theater production. Jen also gets the lead role in a play that slowly surpasses reality and at some point puts the idealism of the whole community to the test.

Mann im Spagat: Pace, Cowboy, Pace

by Timo Jacobs

For the World Breath Agency Cowboy eagerly tries to clean the breath of the world with homemade bed-chains and levitated water. Well, that should not be a problem in Kreuzberg, the district for star singers. After all, Cowboy has the help of his senior interns. But here, too, the times are changing. Cowboy has to watch the greasy Tschick McQueen and his busy partner Angel open a car courier across the street. Cowboy has to do something about those dirty slings. He plans to build a bike courier service and organize a rally right at the beginning.

But Cowboy’s mission has another reason. Cowboy does not want his mother to end up as a guinea pig in a dull and even dangerous retirement home. His mother is to go to Sohosavoyritz, the invigorating retirement home for BestAgerGutverdiener. There even Elvis is dancing as a laser projection. But cowboy needs money for that; best that of the courier company. As the world’s air center in the shape of the attractive and intelligent Fey van Schweeden sends a representative, Cowboys planning picks up speed. Fey supports cowboy where she can. For this it demands transcendental rethinking. Scattered between his burgeoning love for Fey, the appeal of Angel and his neat penchant for chaos, the rally becomes a race against time. Soon his mother should be taken away from him and these courier drivers really do not do what they should actually: cycling.

Tschick and Angel have cowboy meanwhile rushed the devil from Hermannplatz on the neck. But that’s laughable compared to the huge thundercloud hovering above him, and Cowboy’s ability to trick himself out of the game.

Das Floß! | Floating!

by Julia C. Kaiser

Katha is sure she wants to marry Jana and have a baby with her. But her sandbox friend Charly has come up with something very special: a weekend ‘hen party’ for five, on a raft.

Katha has to learn not to think in conventional patterns; and it’s the most conservative-looking Charly who turns out to be the bearer of this ‘queer’ spirit. The movie tells of intellectual freedom – it should be created with the greatest possible creative freedom. With the raft! I want to tell a story that lives on improvisational authenticity and at the same time on narrative density. The script, served us as a promise – which, however, was allowed to be broken.

Nachthelle | Bright Night

by Florian Gottschick

It promises to be an idyllic and sentimental weekend. – The lovers ANNA and STEFAN and BERND and MARC meet in their old home. The expanding coal mining industry, which will soon swallow up the village, meadows and forests, has depopulated the place. The old school has expired, the dead in the cemetery have been exhumed and yet the four enjoy their time in the dying area and reminisce. But an old guilt pushes vehemently into Anna’s consciousness. The place of her youth has a threatening effect on her: she is afflicted by nightmares, something sinisterly surges to the surface, while towering conveyors dig incessantly closer. And that’s not enough, Stefan is drawn to the two men’s open relationship, which Marc takes advantage of to play with Anna’s ailing psyche.

The otherwise so confident Anna has to learn how to first slip away from well-structured life and then the friend – and she has to learn that only the confrontation with the demons of their past offers a way out.
