The nomination was announced by the European Film Academy<\/strong> in Berlin on 5 November 2023.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

In addition to “One in a Million<\/strong>“, the film “Longing for the World<\/strong>” (Switzerland, 2023) by Jenna Hasse<\/strong> and “Scrapper<\/strong>” (United Kingdom, 2023) by Charlotte Regan<\/strong> were nominated for the award.<\/p>\n

In the announcement of the nomination on social media it says: “In “<\/em>One In A Million” <\/em>by Joya Thome we watch two girls grow up and their struggles connect us. Combining the impact of social media with the world of gymnastics it’s a film that shows the reality of growing up and dealing with fame in a way that make us think we all matter.\u201d<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Every year, thousands of young film enthusiasts from 42 European countries between the ages of 12 and 14 come together as the world’s largest children’s and youth film jury to view the three films nominated for the European Young Audience Award<\/strong> in over 60 cinemas or online in over 70 European cities and select a winner.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The award is an official category of the European Film Awards 2023<\/strong>, which are jointly awarded by the Berlin-based European Film Academy<\/strong> and European Film Academy Productions<\/strong> to recognise the greatest achievements in European film. The prizes, including the European Young Audience Award<\/strong>, are awarded in 24 categories.
