The film “The Last Battle<\/strong>” (original French title: “Le dernier combat<\/strong>“, German title: “Der letzte Kampf<\/strong>“) was produced by future star director Luc Besson<\/strong> (“L\u00e9on – The Professional<\/strong>“, “Nikita<\/strong>“, “The Fifth Element<\/strong>“, “The Deep Blue<\/strong>“, “Lucy<\/strong>“, “Anna<\/strong>“) and Pierre Jolivet<\/strong>. The film, which Luc Besson<\/strong> also directed for the first time and which is now available in HD for the first time in Germany, Austria and Switzerland via UCM.ONE<\/strong><\/span>‘s film label B-Spree Classics<\/strong>, was nominated for the C\u00e9sar<\/strong><\/em> in the category “Best Debut Film”<\/em> in 1984.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sometime after the nuclear apocalypse: Earth is a desolate pile of rubble with few resources left. The few surviving people have either come together in small communities or roam the world as loners. They have forgotten how to speak and conflicts are usually settled violently. There is a struggle for bare survival. A man (Pierre Jolivet<\/strong>) flees from a brutal gang in his improvised flying machine after injuring their leader (Fritz Wepper<\/strong>). When he crashes his flying machine, a doctor (Jean Bouise<\/strong>) unexpectedly grants him refuge. But even here the man is not safe, because in the end only the strongest will survive\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\nDuring the entire film, there is virtually no text, only\u00a0\u201cBon jour\u201d<\/em>\u00a0is whispered twice.\u00a0Incidentally,\u00a0Jean Reno<\/strong>\u00a0received a fee of 500 francs for his participation, but the film had a budget of around 17 million francs.
\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Composer\u00a0\u00c9ric Serra<\/strong>\u00a0created the soundtrack for the film. The main piece is the song \u201cParking<\/strong>\u201c. Although\u00a0\u00c9ric Serra<\/strong>\u00a0has hardly achieved stardom so far, he is represented on the soundtracks of many well-known films. Director\u00a0Luc Besson<\/strong>, for example, repeatedly enlists the Frenchman, born in 1959, for his films. Serra was already involved in \u201cSubway<\/strong>\u201d from 1985 and contributed two songs. He also had his first and so far only appearance in front of the camera in this film, when he played a bass player in a supporting role. This was followed by cinema hits such as \u201cThe Deep Blue<\/strong>\u201d (1988), \u201cL\u00e9on the Professiona<\/strong>l\u201d (1994), \u201cJames Bond 007: Golden Eye<\/strong>\u201d (1995) and, in 1997, some of the truly exceptional pieces on the soundtrack of \u201cThe Fifth Element<\/strong>\u201c, another hit by star director\u00a0Luc Besson<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″][vc_single_image image=”68099″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]German actor\u00a0Fritz Wepper<\/strong>\u00a0can be seen in a supporting role.\u00a0Fritz Wepper<\/strong>, born in Munich in 1941, played the role of Inspector\u00a0Harry Klein<\/em>\u00a0continuously from 1969 to 1998, first in 66 episodes alongside\u00a0Eric Ode<\/strong>\u00a0in the series \u201cDer Kommissar<\/strong>\u201d until 1974 and then in the series \u201cDerrick<\/strong>\u201d alongside\u00a0Horst Tappert<\/strong>. In 2007, Wepper then acted again in the Norwegian comedy series \u201cRikets r\u00f8st<\/strong>\u201d in three episodes a version of his role\u00a0Harry Klein<\/em>.
