Before it is released in cinemas in Germany tomorrow by UCM.ONE<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0on the film label Artkeim\u00b2<\/strong>, the extraordinary feature film “Tr\u00fcmmerm\u00e4dchen – Germany Year Zero<\/strong>” by director Oliver Kracht<\/strong> will celebrate its theatrical release tonight at 8:00 pm at Kino in der KulturBrauerei<\/strong> in Berlin.<\/p>\n

The film, the screenplay of which won Oliver Kracht<\/strong> the Thomas Strittmatter Award<\/strong> during the Berlinale<\/strong> in 2019, celebrated its world premiere at the 55th Hofer Filmtage<\/strong> in 2021, where it received a Special Mention from the jury of the F\u00f6rderpreis Neues Deutsches Kino<\/strong> in addition to the Bild-Kunst-F\u00f6rderpreis<\/strong> for “Best Costume Design”<\/em> and “Best Production Design.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The resonant, provocative story of emancipation set against the backdrop of a new beginning in the ruins of World War II stars an impressive Laura Balzer<\/strong> (nominated for the G\u00f6tz George Young Talent Award<\/strong> at the First Steps Awards<\/strong>), who, with the support of a terrific, predominantly female ensemble (including Valery Tscheplanowa<\/strong>, Lena Urzendowsky<\/strong>), takes us on the emotional journey of a character scarred by trauma and oppression.<\/p>\n
