[vc_row][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]After “House by the River<\/strong>” (German title: “Das Todeshaus am Fluss<\/strong>“) from 1950 by Fritz Lang was already released in autumn 2019 in a limited mediabook edition, this film classic, a late work by master director Fritz Lang<\/strong>, is now being released on DVD as part of the \u00c9dition Film Noir<\/strong> of the film label Artkeim<\/strong>\u00b2 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”33489″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Director Fritz Lang<\/strong> coined the history of film by setting new aesthetic and technical standards, especially in the era of late silent film and early sound film. His films usually tell utopian and fantastic stories, which were staged in an expressively gloomy atmosphere. Synopsis:<\/h3>\n

The unsuccessful writer Stephen Byrne (Louis Hayward<\/strong>) lives together with his wife Marjorie (Jane Wyatt<\/strong>) and his new housekeeper Emily Gaunt (Dorothy Patrick<\/strong>) in an old villa on the banks of a river. One afternoon, when his wife is in town, he receives a letter from the post office for his last work. He dries himself and imitates the maid. When she begins to scream loudly in his pushy approach, he grips Emily’s neck and strangles her in the affect. To make the body disappear unobtrusively, he asks his brother John for help.
