[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is with great sadness that we learned that the film composer Peter Thomas<\/strong> died last night at the age of 94 in Lugano.\u00a0With his compositions for such legendary series as “Raumpatrouille<\/strong>“, “Derrick<\/strong>” and “Der Alte<\/strong>” as well as numerous works for films such as the Edgar Wallace<\/strong> films “Der Hexer<\/strong>“, “Der Zinker<\/strong>” and “Der unheimliche M\u00f6nch<\/strong>” or the films “Onkel Toms H\u00fctte<\/strong>“, “Winnetou und sein Freund Old Firehand<\/strong>” and “Steiner – Das Eiserne Kreuz<\/strong>” he became one of the best-working composers in Germany in the 60s. He also contributed the soundtrack to several catalogue films on the UCM.ONE<\/strong><\/span> film label Darling Berlin<\/strong> by director Will Tremper<\/strong> (“Die endlose Nacht<\/strong>” [English Titel: “Endless Night<\/strong>“],\u00a0“Flucht nach Berlin<\/strong>” [English title: “Escape to Berlin<\/strong>“] and “Playgirl<\/strong>“).[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]He also created the film music for the horror classic “Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel<\/strong>” (English title: The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism<\/strong>) by Harald Reinl<\/strong>, which will be released this year by M-Square Classics<\/strong> in a remastered deluxe edition. Tirelessly he helped here until the end – together with Walter Potganski<\/strong> (moviemax<\/strong>, Munich) – to reconstruct the so far unpublished soundtrack for a first release in this collectors edition.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
