Stockholm-based dark metal band The Vice<\/b> has announced the release of their brand new 3-track EP \u2018The Red Tape Sessions\u2019<\/b>, which is set to drop on 5 December<\/b> on German label Noble Demon<\/b>. With the track \u2018Cardinal Tropes<\/b>\u2019, the band gives a first taste of what’s to come. The single is accompanied by a music video, which can be viewed here:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Vice<\/b> on the song: “Sometimes things don’t have to be too complicated or pretentious. \u201cCardinal Tropes\u201d started with just a few lines laid over a simple, cool rhythm. Those first few seconds made it very clear what kind of song this was going to be, so writing and arranging the rest was a breeze. The end result is a dazzling performance from The Vice, firing on all cylinders, a purple haze of mean rock \u201cn\u201d roll, dark metal, smugness and a youthful stubbornness to always take the road less travelled.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dark, blackened metal, wild rock \u201cn\u201d roll, punk and hardcore attitude, mixed with a large dose of the cultural giants of the 90s such as Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Prince, grunge, Oasis, nu metal, Fight Club, The Matrix<\/strong> and Terminator 2<\/strong>, to name but a few. All of that \u2013 and everything in between \u2013 comes pretty close to the essence of The Vice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

With three albums and numerous EPs under their belt, the band stands as a confident, adrenaline-fuelled unit \u2013 a group of troublemakers in the starting blocks, ready to begin the next chapter in the saga of The Vice. The first step in this new era is \u2018Cardinal Tropes<\/strong>\u2019, the opening track of the mini EP \u2018The Red Tape Sessions<\/strong>\u2019, which brings 2025 to a colourful close.
