[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]With a world premiere that has been sold out for weeks, \u2018Rock \u201cn\u201d Roll Ringo<\/b>\u2019 was shown for the first time in a premiere at the Filmwelt Herne<\/b> cinema yesterday, to mark its nationwide release in Germany. The entire film team from Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia was in town, including leading actor Martin Rohde<\/b>, director Dominik Galizia<\/b> and supporting actor Charly Schultz<\/b>, who in real life runs the film’s setting, a boxing booth at a fair \u2013 an attraction that has been a staple at fairground events across Germany for decades. The former professional boxer plays practically himself in the film and was celebrated by the audience with extra applause for his performance. During the subsequent Q&A, cameraman Elias C. J. K\u00f6hler<\/b> talked about the special challenges of shooting at a fair. His outstanding camera work is further enhanced by the fact that the impressive images were shot on 35 mm analogue.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]
\nThe Dolby Atmos version of the film was also presented at Herner Filmwelt<\/b> cinema with the theatrical release. The cinema is one of the few in Germany to have installed and integrated this system.

\nToday, the tour continues with a sold-out screening at the D\u00fcsseldorf Metropol Kino<\/b>. As in Herne, the huge demand for tickets led to a second showing being organised at short notice with the team. On Saturday, the screening will take place in the Luxussaal 11 of the Cinedom cinema<\/b> in Cologne, which has of course also been sold out for weeks. For Sunday in Bochum and Dortmund, there are still a few tickets left at the box office.

One day, Ringo Fleisch (33), a scaffolder from Herne, climbs onto a scaffold while drunk and injures a colleague in an accident. He loses his job. Frustrated, he signs on as a mechanic at a fair that is visiting Crange. The colourful lights, the hustle and bustle of the fair and the weird characters fascinate him and offer him a new home. He goes on tour and leaves his deaf daughter Mia (12) with his mother. For the first time, Ringo leaves Crange without knowing when he will return.<\/p>\n

At the fair, Ringo meets the boxing booth boss Fr\u00e4nkie, who is impressed by Ringo’s stature and persuades him to fight as a prize fighter in his booth. Ringo is sceptical, but can be persuaded. Frankie becomes his mentor and entices him with easy money, an adrenaline-filled life and star status at the fair. He gives him the stage name \u2018Rock \u201cn\u201d Roll Ringo\u2019<\/i>. From fight to fight, Ringo becomes more and more immersed in the fairground family. Gro\u00dfe Hainz, a mime, becomes his loyal companion.<\/p>\n

Through Jenny, who works the bumper cars, he gets to know the fast-paced life of the fair, even though he keeps getting into trouble with her brother Mirko. Jenny and Ringo develop a wild friendship, a mixture of affection and mutual benefit. But Ringo has another goal: he wants to take his daughter Mia on a cabin boat to the North Sea at the end of the fair season. To fulfil his daughter’s dream, Ringo gets more and more involved in the fairground life, and in the end he even takes part in a robbery.
