Synopsis<\/span><\/p>\n

Lotte is direct and edgy, yet amiable and, above all, has a big-city snout. With all these qualities, she is constantly offending – her colleagues, friends and even her boyfriend. He throws her out without further ado, and Lotte is out on the street – from now on fully occupied with finding a place to stay. One night, Lotte meets Marcel, an almost forgotten acquaintance, in her favourite pub. As soon as he recognises her, Lotte flees and finds a place to stay in her friend Sabine’s flat. The next day, the stresses and strains of that night haunt Lotte and don’t seem to let her go, even while she is at work in the hospital. A young girl is admitted, Lotte looks after her and a subtle affection develops. But the joy is short-lived, because a little later Lotte witnesses an encounter between the young girl Greta and Marcel. The eyes of the three cross, and Lotte realises that this time there will be no escape for her.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, the Lichtblick cinema<\/strong> will be showing the film *Monolith<\/strong>* (2023): In his existentialist film drama “Monolith<\/strong>“, director and author Julius Schulthei\u00df<\/strong> tells of the loss of control and self-dissolution of a driven, featureless man. UCM.ONE<\/strong><\/span> is also marketing the award-winning “essayistic film noir”<\/em> on the Darling Berlin<\/strong> label.<\/div>\n

Samir is part of a social circle of friends. One evening, his friend Basil suddenly leaves the group and doesn’t return. Shortly afterwards, Samir’s night shift begins, he gets into a taxi and we follow him for 24 hours: he sets off on a road trip through Berlin at night, one eye always on his smartphone to show him the way. The next day, while searching for Basil, Samir meets people who make him increasingly aware of his dwindling existence. When he realises that he can’t get anywhere on his own, the mysterious Henry appears and offers him a solution that requires sacrifice.<\/p>\n

\nJulius Schulthei\u00df<\/strong> was born in Marburg an der Lahn in 1985. After graduating from high school, he completed his civilian service at a school for sick school-age children, also in Marburg. He then completed internships in film and television in Berlin and Munich in the areas of production, editing and set management.

From October 2007, he studied visual communication with a focus on film and television at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. Since graduating in May 2013, he has lived and worked in Berlin and Hamburg.<\/div>\n

His highly acclaimed debut *Lotte<\/strong>* premiered in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino<\/strong> section at the 66th Berlin International Film Festiva<\/strong>l (Berlinale<\/strong>) in 2016 and won the main prize at the Achtung Berlin Film Festival<\/strong> 2016.<\/p>\n
