UCM.ONE<\/span> <\/strong>is pleased to present the world premiere of the 4K digitally restored version of Will Tremper<\/strong>‘s film “The Endless Night”<\/strong> (German original tile: “Die Endlose Nacht<\/strong>“) as part of the Retrospective<\/strong> at the Berlinale<\/strong>. This masterpiece of German cinema from 1963 is characterized by its unique plot and production style. Shot at West Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport<\/strong> under real-life conditions of dense fog that brought air traffic to a standstill, the film follows the experiences of a dozen stranded passengers who are forced to spend the night at the airport. In a series of loosely connected episodes, a multi-faceted picture of society unfolds, characterized by improvised dialogues and authentic character sketches.<\/div>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]With actors such as Karin H\u00fcbner<\/strong>, Harald Leipnitz<\/strong>, Hannelore Elsner<\/strong>, Louise Martini<\/strong> and Paul Esser<\/strong>, “The Endless Night<\/strong>” offers an ensemble of credible characters that reflect the spirit of the times. Shot without a fixed script and with original sound in the Tempelhof check-in hall, the film impressively reflects reality and perhaps even indirectly portrays the financial sacrifices that Tremper had to make to realize his project.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The film will be shown in German with English subtitles, has a running time of 85 minutes and is in black and white. Accessible to audiences aged 16 and over, the Berlinale now offers the opportunity to experience this piece of film history in digitally restored quality.
