When Before The Dawn<\/strong>\u00a0(short: BTD<\/strong>) was preparing to record 3rd album \u201dThe Ghost<\/strong>\u201d Tuomas Saukkonen<\/strong> realized that he had over 30 songs written. First idea was to simply make an double album for BTD<\/strong>\u00a0but some of the material written started to sound too slow and dark for BTD<\/strong>\u00a0style and Tuomas Saukkonen<\/strong> decided to push that darker direction a bit further and form a completely new project called Dawn Of Solace <\/strong>(short: DOS<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Debut album \u201dThe Darkness<\/strong>\u201d came out in May 2006 featuring BTD<\/strong> vocalist Lars Eikind<\/strong> on clean vocals and Jukka Salovaara<\/strong> on guest vocals and solo guitar. After the release several issues with label forced the project to go on a hiatus for undefined amount of time.<\/p>\n

It took 13 years and 14 written albums until an idea of a song came up that ignite the flame to bring Dawn Of Solace<\/strong> back from over a decade of rest. Time took care of the issues with labels and legally band was free but 13 years had not taken away the crushing sadness that inspired the debut. After the floodgate opened the writing process for the album came really easy and fast and most of the music has been composed during the final recordings as a rather free stream of thoughts instead of a result of carefully planned and long timed pre-production. Waves came out to be a honest picture of the current times for its writer. Grey, heavy and dark but still sorrow carrying certain beauty and strength.<\/p>\n

New album features Mikko Heikkil\u00e4<\/strong> (Black Sun Aeon<\/strong>, Kaunis Kuolematon<\/strong>) as vocalist taking over all vocal duties and Lars Eikind<\/strong> (Before The Dawn<\/strong>) as guest vocalist in one song. With Lars Eikind<\/strong> also Jukka Salovaara<\/strong> appears on the album as guest solo guitarist for 2 songs completing the circle with the debut album.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

As a true master of his work, Tuomas Saukkonen<\/strong> takes the listener with Dawn of Solace<\/strong> into a world of deepest melancholy, filled with heavy doom hymns and soundscapes of finest Melodic Metal. Together with his friend and label colleague Mikko Heikkil\u00e4<\/strong> of Kaunis Kuolematon<\/strong>, who will release their brand new album on Noble Demon<\/strong> in the not too distant future, Dawn of Solace<\/strong> now released a brand new and acoustic live performance version of the song “Numb<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Right \u2013 you just start another project. So Tuomas Saukkonen<\/strong>, singer\/guitarist and creative power behind Before The Dawn<\/strong>. When he suddenly realizes during the work on the third Before The Dawn<\/strong> album \u201cThe Ghost<\/strong>\u201d that he has a whole series of good songs, which are however clearly darker, more melancholic or simply different than what he has in mind with his main band, he brings the dark \u201ctwin\u201d Dawn Of Solace\u00a0<\/strong>into life.<\/div>\n
